Simple Things

My oven has been acting up. Wasn't heating up very quickly, was taking forever to cook things, and was reeking havoc on items I was attempting to bake. Was making me super crabby when I was trying to bake or cook anything!

So I finally called an appliance repairman that has been to our house at least 6 times in the last 18 months! A great Christian guy that we truly trust. After only a few minutes and not a lot of money my stove is back to normal...I hope! I have not had time to try baking yet, but you can bet I will do that this weekend. When my husband called to tell me it was fixed, I was so excited! I told people at work with a big smile on my face.

Maybe it is me getting old, but it truly is the simple things in life that make me happy!

I had to chuckle when you said "maybe it is me getting old" because I think we do find joy in funny things when we are older. We are becoming those lame parents we never wanted to be!!

I am not sure it is age that makes us giddy over things like this....but maybe just more appreciative of what we have.
I also go ga-ga over things working properly when they have not in the past....like my house phone. It has been broke for about 6 months (all due to our complicated gate system) well, yesterday it started working out of the blue!! I was so happy, I stood in the kitchen w/ my cell and called the house phone to hear it ring 3x in a row!!
Happy baking!!

I am the same way, Tara. Especially now, since money is SOOO tight for us. I appreciate little things so much more! :-)

PS: Your boys are absolutely adorable!

I can totally relate...If something is broken in my house it makes me feel like something is "not right with the world".
I realize how much I rely on my stuff:)!

Ya, it's one of those things that you probably don't know how often you use it until it's broke!!!

Happy New Year!
I understand about the oven. We had appliance problems last year, and it's such a nuisance not to be able to rely on something so important...my friend at A Little Something to Share (on my blogroll) is having similar issues, as is Happy Wife, Happy Life. Maybe there's something in the air?
